Dogs, A Love Story is a beautiful reflection on the bond between people and dogs. George Lister writes with warmth and honesty as he revisits the dogs who shaped different chapters of his life. Each story feels genuine and deeply human. Anyone who has ever loved a dog will recognize the emotions in these pages.
Some moments made me laugh, while others were unexpectedly emotional. Lister captures the personality of each dog so vividly that you feel as if you are meeting them yourself.
The writing feels authentic and reflective, never forced. George’s honesty about his life experiences makes the stories even more powerful
The thing that makes this book beautiful is how it celebrates everything that makes dogs extraordinary companions: their loyalty, intelligence, humor, and the quiet way they become part of our lives and memories.
You can't read this book without yearnng for a canine love story of your own!
I've had the privilege of knowing George and his dogs for more than three decades now. Over the years, he's taught me to appreciate the wordless bonds between man and canine, and to accept each of our dogs as well-loved and integral members of our family. Dogs, A Love Story gives each reader a taste of the unique relationship possible between a person and their dog, and the love and intimacy that undergirds these connections. One can't read his book without either yearning for their own canine love story or celebrating the one that they already have with deeper appreciation.
Such a delightful book! The dogs are so special, I really enjoyed "meeting," them. I can't wait to share this with my dog-loving friends and family!
I just finished reading “Dogs, A Love Story” by George I. Lister, & loved it. Narrating his bond with each dog, George lets us peek into his own life revealing his loves, his joys, his heartaches … so beautifully done. Bravo!
A different Love Affair! This is a must read for all dog lovers. Lister captured a life’s journey filled with joy, happiness and love from his decades long relationships with his dogs. You’ll smile and shed some tears, but you will feel the life long connection and passion he has for his dogs.
